Encompix’s BOMLink integrates AutoCAD engineering drawings with production orders. It is a simple process to create a bill of material in Encompix ERP directly from the drawing. Encompix provides revision level control on all drawings. The engineer has access to existing part information in Encompix ERP, which eliminates the need to create a new record for an existing item. And, the system automatically creates purchase material requirements.

To facilitate the purchase of long lead-time items, the engineer can optionally release the production bill by item, for advanced purchase, even before the design is complete.

BOMLink reduces the duplication of effort and non-value activities like the re-keying of data from one system to another allowing engineers to concentrate on design tasks.

As the drawing is a key document in engineer-to-order companies, Encompix ETO provides the capability for all users to view the drawing even without AutoCAD. This feature accesses the CAD drawing and allows any user to view the document and overlay changes or comments without effecting the original drawing. This ensures that engineering still maintains control but provides visibility to the whole organization.
